Man in distress blocks traffic on Diefenbaker Bridge

Jun 27, 2017 | 10:27 AM

The Diefenbaker Bridge was closed down last night during two tense hours, that ultimately resolved peacefully.

Last night at roughly 9:45 p.m., negotiators from the Prince Albert police, ambulance, fire, mobile crisis and a local elder were called to the bridge after a man threatened to jump. The bridge was temporarily closed to ensure public safety.

After nearly two hours the man was talked off the bridge and brought to hospital to receive mental health treatment.

No one was injured in the incident.
