Paint night planned to benefit palliative care
An upcoming paint night in Prince Albert is aimed at creating awareness and raising funds for end of life care.
The Prince Albert Parkland Hospice Palliative Care Association (PAPHPCA) host the “Tree of Life – A One and Done Paint Night” the same week as National Palliative Care week. Marj Bodnarchuk, president of the PAPHPCA, said the association was formed in the early 1990s to improve the quality of life for people confronted with a terminal illness.
“The focus is on comfort and quality of life no matter what the terminal illness is from.…We pursue education and innovation of treatments and practices that will bring comfort and hopefully pain free time for these individuals,” Bodnarchuk said.
Pallative care is based on a holistic care approach that focuses at the individual’s mind, body and spirit. She said it requires knowledge how to most effectively heal symptoms.
