Doreen Reid from Tisdale went into a casino on Oct. 23, having no idea it was the day she would end up with $1.5 million added to her bank account.

In a media release, Zane Hansen, president and CEO of Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), congratulated Reid and announced her as the newest member of SIGA’s Millionaires’ Club.

Rein won her $1,502,225.26 in Gold Eagle Casino on a Smoke Signals jackpot, the SIGA-wide jackpot linking 52 slot machines at the corporation’s six casinos.

Each time a patron plays on a machine, any of the Smoke Signals jackpots could be triggered. Three of them are mystery jackpot tiers with specific start and end prize values. They increase over time, and the largest mystery jackpot has a minimum value of $1 million and pays out before hitting $2 million.
