Police wish to appeal Cst. Patrick Robin decision

The Prince Albert Police Service wants to appeal the decision regarding Cst. Patrick Robin.

Anne Wallace, the hearing officer in Robin's case, reinstated him with the Prince Albert Police Service on Mar. 31.

“Constable Robin’s misconduct does not render him unsuitable to continue as an officer with the Prince Albert Police Service,” said the decision.

Robin was dismissed from the service back in Mar ch 2010 for, among other reasons, prosecuting a traffic violation himself after the Crown prosecutor decided to drop it.

The Prince Albert Police Service has asked the Saskatchewan Provincial Police Commission for leave to appeal the decision, and is expecting to receive a response and an explanation in due course.
