Dancers experience F.A.M.E. at year-end recital

After a year of hard work, Performing Arts Warehouse dancers showed off everything they’ve learned at the Forever Achieving and Maintaining Excellence (F.A.M.E.) year-end recital.

The E.A. Rawlinson Centre was packed during the various shows put on from June 2 through 5. Co-owner and teacher Jenna Trawin said all of the dancers have made huge strides.

Tailyn Childress, who’s danced for 12 years, put on a show for the large crowd which included hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and modern styles of dance.

“It’s just what I do,” she said.

Enrolled in dance classes by four-years-old, Childress admitted dance class can be daunting and she didn’t initially take to it.

However, she learned to love dance class once she “made friends and realized how much fun it could be to talk to people in your class instead of standing in a corner.”

Now, she said she and the other dozen dancers she performs with are like a large family.
