Charges laid in connection to P.A homicide

Three men are facing charges in connection to Prince Albert’s first murder of 2016.

On Jan. 9 at 2:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 1000 block of First Ave W. after someone was reportedly shot. 

Jonathon Lee Cowan, 23, was found dead.

Reno Roy Keenatch, 20, is facing a charge of second degree murder and possession of a firearm while prohibited. He will make his court appearance on April 6 at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Tyler Thomas Pechawis, 25, is also facing a charge of second degree murder. He will make his appearance on April 12.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, Preston Spencer Dean Bird. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The 23-year-old is charged with second degree murder.
