Mistawasis man plans MMA comeback

Dec 6, 2015 | 7:19 AM

Ashton Ledoux, 21, is the first to admit that success may have come too early.

“When I went to the MMA gym I was tapping people out, I was pretty much a kid only 17,” said Ledoux.

Ledoux would win the XCW fighting championship at the age of 18.

“I slacked though in training, I didn’t train as hard as I should have been, I was just naturally good at it like some people are with basketball,” he said.

Ledoux retired from the sport soon after and fell into a period of time he refers to as “darkness.” He started drinking and hurt his shoulder in a quad accident.

His shoulder has healed and he now wants to get back in the ring.

“It’s something that makes me really proud and happy,” said Ledoux when talking about MMA.

Ledoux said he also wants to fight for his one-year-old son Rory.

Lately he’s been touring locally with his championship belt and spreading a positive message to kids.

He currently has no fights scheduled but continues to train hard at the gym.
