Highway Hotline extending hours for winter season

Nov 3, 2015 | 10:52 AM

As winter approaches, roads are getting icy leaving drivers in Saskatchewan white-knuckling their way to work and school.

With this in mind, the Saskatchewan Highway Hotline is “upgrading services to winter standards,” by reporting road conditions 24-7 from Nov. 1, onward.

“This time of the year, road conditions can change rapidly,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Nancy Heppner said in a statement.  “The Highway Hotline provides up-to-date road information so travellers can plan their trips safely.”

The Highway Hotline is updated at least three times a day, and more when needed.
