A traditional homecoming powwow gathered people from all over the province, and country, to fill the stands at Mistawasis First Nation.

On Sunday, the final grand entry began after 1 p.m. and included a procession by many Saskatchewan Chiefs, traditional dancers, powwow royalty and the honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, who was honoured with a star blanket.

The three day powwow, which kicked off Friday, was the first to be hosted at the First Nation in 15 years. Hundreds of people showed up to enjoy the festivities, camping on the powwow grounds.

Mistawasis is located approximately 68 km west of Prince Albert, 21 km outside of Leask.
