Upgraded waterslides make a splash with park visitors

It’s a sign that summer is quickly coming to an end.

The Kinsmen Water Park closed for the year over the weekend.

Derek Blais with the City said this was one of the best years on record for attendance with about 37,500 visitors. He attributed the high attendance to recent upgrades to the water slides.

“I think a lot of it’s just with the slides re-opening and the excitement there,” said Blais. “I think the weather also helped us out a lot. We had, for the most part, a really warm summer.”
