Prince Albert mops up after rainstorm

Heavy rainfall on Saturday was causing major inconveniences around the city.

Many streets and parking lots flooded due to the downpour including the Tim Horton’s parking lot on 2nd Avenue W. and 15th Street.

900 CKBI meteorologist Henri Dagenais says rainfall amounts across central Saskatchewan on Saturday ranged from 30 – 45mm (1.77 inches).

Environment Canada was forecasting 20-30mm (1.1 inches) of rain for the Prince Albert and Melfort areas on Saturday.

Here is a breakdown of the rainfall amounts in the Prince Albert area, according to Environment Canada:
 
Prince Albert 1.2 inches(33mm)
 
Melfort 1.02 inches (26.2mm)
 
Waskesiu 1.5 inches (38.3mm)
 
Spiritwood 1.7 inches( 43.8mm)

The Candle Lake area was also hit hard.

 
Areas further west appeared to be the worst off.  The City of Lloydminster received 59.3 mm ( 2.3 inches) of precipitation on Saturday.
