Apr 3, 2011 | 6:41 PM

The Raiders looked heartbroken as they left the ice.

A shot by the Blades, five minutes into the overtime period brought the Raiders playoff run to an end.

Blades outshot Prince Albert and won this Eastern Conference quarter final 2-1.

The Raiders went into overtime on their biggest game of the season, on their biggest stage of the season.

What was seen in the third period was playoff hockey, said Drew Wilson, the voice of the Prince Albert Raiders.

He describes the play as tight, with tight checks and good defense.

There was no scoring in the third period.

Fans were working themselves up to a frenzy as the Raiders and Blades hit the ice for the third period.

The teams were on even after 40 minutes, tied at 1-1.

The score was tied up with seven minutes left in the second period when the Blades, Brent Benson, took a shot that made it past the Raider's Jamie Tucker.

It's an improvement over the beginning of the second period, when the Blades got a goalie interference penalty in the first minute. Prince Albert wasn't able to take full advantage of their power play.

However, Raiders player, Antoine Corbin, scored the opening goal against the Saskatoon Blades, midway through the first period, in this do-or-die sixth game.

This is the sixth playoff game in the Eastern Conference quarter final. The Blades are up 3-2 on the Prince Albert Raiders

The Raiders started Nathan Deck, James Bettauer, Mark McNeill, Todd Fiddler and Brandon Herrod, with Jamie Tucker in net.

Fans started filling the stands looking for the best of the standing room seats at 6 p.m. and aren't hesitating to show their support for their team.
