City of Prince Albert requesting feedback on sign bylaw

Jul 27, 2015 | 11:33 AM

Residents, business owners and non-profit representatives in Prince Albert, are being asked to complete an online survey on the city’s use of portable signs.

The city’s Portable Sign Bylaw, No. 22 of 2010, regulates the manner in which portable signs can be placed throughout the city. Portable signs are considered any sign that can be moved and that has advertising material on it.

“The portable sign bylaw was introduced in 2010 and has gone through several amendments since then as we try and balance the city’s need to provide some standards for their use while also allowing organizations the ability to advertise their events or services,” said Kim Johnson, senior building official with the City of Prince Albert.

Johnson said the city needs feedback from residents and users of the signs to ensure the city is providing that appropriate balance.
