Family ‘wishes it would just end’ in regards to Jobb sentencing

May 29, 2015 | 4:59 PM

It was an emotional scene on the steps of the Queen’s Bench courthouse Friday morning.

Josephine Ledoux, mother of Brandi Lepine and grandmother of baby Aurora, responded to the decision to push the sentencing of Jeremiah Jobb ahead.

“I’m really upset about it, but I have to learn to accept what is going on,” said Ledoux. “I was hoping to have closure today, I was hoping to put this all at rest.”

Ledoux added that she felt that this could have helped all the families affected by this tragedy move on, however, they will have to come back to court at least one last time to hear the sentencing of Jobb.

During his appearance in court on Friday morning, Jobb pleaded guilty to causing the deaths of both Taylor Litwin and Brandi Lepine when he drove his truck intoxicated and hit the vehicle they were in, in July of 2013.

Ledoux said she was at least glad to hear him confess to what he did.

“I’m very grateful that he did that,” said Ledoux. “I was just hoping for closure, I just wish it would just all end.”

Ledoux became the primary caregiver of baby Aurora, who survived a premature birth after her mother Brandi died from her injuries while in hospital.

Doctors speculated the baby would face a lifetime of mental health issues due to injuries sustained in the accident as well while still in the womb.

Ledoux said Aurora is back in hospital.

“She’s been throwing up, she’s extra irritable, she’s still on oxygen,” said Ledoux. “We don’t know what’s going to happen with her, but she’s still hanging in and she’s still strong.”

When Jobb exited the courthouse there were angry remarks yelled by many family members from across the parking lot at him.

The family of Litwin did not comment.
