‘Voice of love roared louder’: Gosling family remembered in Nipawin

May 1, 2015 | 12:17 PM

Friends and family flooded a church in Nipawin for the funeral of a mother and three children.

“The voice of evil roared loud. The voice of love roars louder,” the pastor said during the funeral held at Nipawin Alliance Church on Friday afternoon.

Latasha Gosling, 27, and her children Jenika, Landen and Janayah were found dead in their mobile home last week.

The killer, Gosling’s boyfriend, took his own life at a home in Prince Albert. He took their six-month-old baby from the trailer park and brought the infant to Prince Albert. The baby was not hurt and is in the care of family.

The eulogy opened with a reading from a letter from Jason Gosling, the father of the three children who were killed.

In the letter he talked about all the efforts Latasha made to be a good mother and keep the kids in activities, even if it meant driving. Other letters from the kids’ grandparents, aunts and uncles describe the good times they had.

Jenika, 8, was remembered as a princess who liked to remind people she was beautiful. She loved dancing and was going to be a model.  Landen, 7, was described as a rambunctious “boy’s boy” who loved his sisters. Four-year-old Janayah loved her gymnastics lessons and spending time with her cousins and extended family.

The pastor thanked the community and family members who reached out.

“There’s hope. There is help. Your life matters,” he said.

Hundreds of people came out to a candlelight vigil in Tisdale to pay their respects.

There is currently an online petition to have Gosling’s Facebook account reopened. Friends and family say her account has precious memories of her and the children that deserve to be saved.
