Victim in trailer court homicide identified

Nearly four months after a break and enter at the North Bay Trailer Court, the provincial coroner’s office is releasing the name of the man who was died as a result of the incident.

Mitchell Laplante, 27, was found inside the residence on May 27, and was rushed to hospital in Saskatoon. He died there nearly two weeks later.

The coroner is not releasing the cause of death.

At the time of the incident, RCMP had said they responded to a break and enter call at the trailer court.

A person who called 911 told police three men had broken into the home and threatened the residents with bear spray and weapons.

According to RCMP, an injured man found at the scene was not a resident of the home.

The RCMP have not confirmed if any arrests have been made.
