Feb 9, 2011 | 5:40 AM

The body of a 60-year-old woman was found in downtown Regina Tuesday morning and the Regina Police Service is describing the incident as a sudden death.

The body found just before 10 a.m. in the east alley of the 1800 block of Scarth Street by an employee of a business in the Scarth Street mall.

News Talk Radio has been told by the employee who found the body that it appeared to be frozen.

Elizabeth Popowich with the Regina Police Service will confirm only that the woman was deceased. Cause of death will be determined by the coroner after an autopsy. At this early point in the investigation, police don't suspect foul play was a factor.
