Oct 12, 2010 | 6:13 PM

A brawl at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary that resulted in a death, remains under investigation.
The fight broke out in the gym Friday night involved roughly 30 inmates.
Seven people were injured, including Courtney Dallas Cook who died from his injuries.
Public relations officer, Darcy Begrand, said the penitentiary remains under lockdown.
As for the cause of the fight, Begrand said he cannot say.
“The Correctional Service of Canada will work closely with the police agencies and hopefully we will know the cause soon. And when we know the cause, we can ensure our procedures and practices can be updated to prevent future incidents like that.”
RCMP said no charges have been laid yet
Begrand said staff responded very well, “It was contained and isolated very quickly. The sad part of it all is that in that short period of time, there were some very serious injuries.”
Begrand said he has no idea when the lockdown might be lifted.
Cook was serving a nearly two year sentence for dangerous driving causing death and failing to comply with a probation order.
