His and Hers Tradeshow brings men and women back together

Oct 25, 2013 | 4:50 PM

There are tons of attractions for both men and women this weekend.

On Friday afternoon the His and Hers Tradeshow at the Prince Albert Exhibition Centre kicks off with more than 60 exhibitors.

Organizer Peggy Schlichemeyer with Rawlco Radio said this event is a great opportunity for businesses in the area to show off their products.

“The importance is to bring awareness, so that people know the services that we have in the city,” she said.

“[There’s] lots of exhibitors and on Saturday we’re having a couple of trade shows. Jockey at 3 o’clock and Serendipity Bra Boutique at 6 p.m., which is the newest specialty bra shop in town. The only specialty bra shop in town.”

In previous years the show was divided into separate buildings for each of the sexes, but this year is a bit different.

“We did have [separate buildings]; boys in one side and girls in the other side. This year we decided not to segregate them like that because it wasn’t the best flow of traffic because the guys would go to the guy’s side but they didn’t follow the women to the women’s side,” she explained. “The women went with the men, but not the other way around.”

Out of the exhibitors there will be items related to cars, sports, fishing, clothes, food and crafts to name just a few.

In addition, Schlichemeyer said they have a few prizes worth hanging around for.

“We’ve got some great door prizes. We’re giving away $500 each day in grocery gift certificates and at the end of the show we’re having a grand prize of a pair of tickets to the Grey Cup.”

She expects to see 3,000 and 5,000 people pass through the doors over the course of the weekend.

The His and Hers Tradeshow runs Friday from 4-7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
