Costco, CFIA issue beef recall over E. coli risk

Oct 12, 2013 | 4:54 PM

There’s a recall of Kirkland Signature brand organic lean ground beef over potential E. coli contamination.

The recall was issued Friday by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd.

This product has been sold from Costco warehouses in B.C., Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

The CFIA said there has been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of the product, but warns food contaminated with pathogenic E. coli may not look or smell spoiled.
