Two dead in collision near Canwood

Two people are dead three are injured after a collision near Canwood that police say alcohol and road conditions played a factor in.

RCMP are reporting that around 2:30 p.m. a Pontiac Sunfire and a Ford Taurus were involved in a head-on collision on the 790 grid road, four kilometers west of Canwood.

The driver of the Sunfire, a 31-year-old male, and the front passenger, who is currently unidentified, both died in the collision. A passenger in the rear of the vehicle survived the accident. Police say the vehicle’s occupants were from the Ahtahakakoop First Nation.
