Update: High winds tear down Prince Albert billboard

May 25, 2013 | 7:23 AM

The high winds in Prince Albert took their toll at least on one advertisement Friday afternoon.

A large steel billboard between Trudel Auto Body and Home Hardware on Marquis Road was torn from its cement footing around 2:30 Friday afternoon.

Kevin Schick, general manager of Home Hardware, said that while the sign damaged some of the fence protecting the lumber yard it did not damage the wood it had fallen on.

He said that the sign very slowly went over in the span of about 10 minutes.
