Henry wins May Day Masters

May 20, 2013 | 5:22 PM

Golfer Brett Henry usually starts his tournaments red-hot, but at this weekend at the May Day Masters, Henry was also able to finish strong in his first place finish.

Henry shot a three-day total of 217, with a sizzling 69 on Day One Saturday, and a 71 to close out the tournament Monday at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course.

Last year's champion Greg Swenson and Dakota Cameron both finished just one stroke back of Henry at 218 to share second place.

“It came down to the wire,” said Henry. “It was up-and-down. I was making a lot of birdies the first and third day, but I didn’t make any in the second. It was pretty good, it was fun.”

Henry’s 71 was tied for the best game in the tournament’s final day. Martin Ring also shot 71 on Monday on his way to winning the First Flight.
