Winter Festival over for another year

Feb 24, 2013 | 1:39 PM

The Prince Albert Winter Festival wrapped up on Sunday afternoon, marking the end of the 49th edition of the annual event.

Most of the marquee events took place on the Festival’s last weekend and closed the show in style.

The dog sled races were a major highlight, especially the 10 dog, 13 mile event, which is one of the top sprint races in Canada. This year 27 teams, from as far away as Missouri and Alaska, took part in the event.

Down at the riverbank, the party kicked off with the Scouts tree burning on Friday night and went until Sunday afternoon.
