Boxing day madness

Dec 26, 2010 | 6:56 AM

A day removed from  Christmas, it's now time for the mayhem known as Boxing Day.

Matthew Stenerson, general manager of Future Shop in Prince Albert, said customers were eager to get their hands on all the great deals.

“People started lining up at 11 p.m. last night.  So there's been people outside all night.  And then at about four o'clock, people really started to line up.  And when we opened the doors (at 6 a.m.), there were about 350 people in line,” said Stenerson.

Taran Brown was one of the customers at Future Shop this morning, and he said he couldn't believe how many people were in already in line when he arrived at six in the morning.

“It was nuts.  People were already lined up outside.  People were here all night.  I don't know how they do it.  Craziness, watching people how psycho they go over stuff,” said Brown.

Samantha Johnstone was shopping with her family, and her cart was filled to the brim.

“We're filling our cart a little too much,” said Johnstone.  “(When we first got here) we couldn't find a cart anywhere.  And trying to herd the kids through the crowd was a little insane.”

Stenerson said Boxing Day is the busiest time of the year for them.
