Prince Albert men stop alleged break and enter

Dec 7, 2010 | 12:34 PM

A break and enter in Prince Albert was foiled by three regular citizens.

At 12:10 a.m. Dec. 4, 22-year-old William Mitchell from Pelican Narrows allegedly tried to break into a residence at the 800 block of 16th Street West.

When police arrived, they discovered that Mitchell had been detained by three men.

“Citizens are protected under the criminal code to use as much force as reasonable and necessary to stop crime. However, we never suggest that. The best course of action is to call the police, because you never know who you’re dealing with, citizens don’t have proper training,” said Sgt. Jason Stonechild.
