Woman charged in landfill baby incident

Apr 23, 2012 | 11:01 AM

The body of a baby was found in the Lloydminster landfill late last fall and this week a woman was charged in connection with the incident.

RCMP say the 26-year-old woman has been charged with disposing of evidence related to the death of a child during childbirth.

Late last November police were called to a Lloydminster home, after a woman had difficulty during childbirth. When the child couldn't be accounted for, police spent five days searching the landfill, eventually finding the remains of a baby.

The woman is not identified in the RCMP news release.
