Kent Austin addresses rumours regarding Roughriders

Rumours have been spreading that the Saskatchewan Roughriders are interested in bringing former Head Coach Kent Austin back to the organization this offseason.

Austin is right in the middle of his second season as Head Coach at Cornell University.

News Talk Radio has received an official statement from Austin addressing the rumours.

“Since taking the challenge of rebuilding the football program at Cornell University, I’ve found that I have a tremendous opportunity to work with some of the most talented student-athletes in the world and the privilege to work at an elite institution. I appreciate the interest from fans and media about a possible return to the Canadian Football League, but I have not had any discussions regarding a potential return.”

In his only season as Head Coach with the Roughriders he guided the organization to their third ever Grey Cup Championship in 2007.
