Strike notice served to SIAST

Nov 10, 2010 | 10:23 AM

Saskatchewan Government Employees Union has served 48-hour strike notice to SIAST, their employer.

Mediated talks between the union and SIAST management broke down, Monday. Management rejected the union's final offer and the union responding by walking away from the bargaining table.

Students at SIAST are expressing concern over a strike at their school.

“We are behind them, but we also want to ensure they come back to the bargaining table, so that we can get back into programming,” said Jeanette Murphy, the students association president for the Kelsey — Woodland Campuses.
