Project Poinsettia brings holiday cheer

Dec 14, 2018 | 10:31 AM

Poinsettias remind us all of Christmas, of spending time with loved ones, and celebrating the end of one year and the beginning of another.

That’s the idea that inspired Power 99 staff to create Project Poinsettia, which sees hundreds of poinsettias delivered to care homes throughout the Prince Albert area.

Sheila Fazio, administrative assistant with Mont St. Joseph Home told paNOW the residents were beaming with happiness over their flowers.

“It was great. It makes everyone have a smile on their face,” Fazio said. “They really enjoy the generous donation at this time of the year and they just know people are trying to spread their love in the community.”

Fazio added she would like to thank the businesses in the community that support them.

Carol Kabaroff, a resident at Mont St. Joseph, said she was excited to receive flowers and shared her appreciation.

“It was a nice surprise, these flowers are very cute,” Kabaroff said. “I think it’s very generous. The home is going to look very nice with all these poinsettias.”

More than 1,000 poinsettias are set to be delivered throughout the area as a part of Project Poinsettia.
