Thevenot, Team Silvernagle excited for Tournament of Hearts
It would be an understatement to say that Prince Albert’s Kara Thevenot and the rest of Team Silvernagle feel as if they have unfinished business to take care of this week’s at the Viterra’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts Provincial Curling Championships which begin tomorrow at the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort.
Last January, Thevenot and the Silvernagle squad consisting of skip Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford), mate Jolene Campbell (Regina) and second shot Dayna Demers (Meadow Lake) lost a heartbreaking decision to Moose Jaw’s Penny Barker when she scored four points on the final stone to win.
“It was great to be invited back to the Scotties this year,” said Thevenot. “We have been building this team for three years now and I think we all truly believe that with the training, coaching and mental preparation we have gone through since last January, good things will happen this week.”
Thevenot added that while last years final was not the result they wanted, it was an excellent learning experience for the young team.
