July has Plenty of Great Events Left at PA National Park

As we make our way through July, many exciting events are fast approaching and details are now available! Please feel free to share with colleagues, tourism partners, and the public.

Three Island Music Festival – Saturday, July 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Join the Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre for a fun filled day of paddling and music at the Hanging Heart Lakes in Prince Albert National Park, just 13 kilometres north of the Waskesiu town site.

  • Make a day of it and enjoy a pancake breakfast, live music, paddling, a barbecue, and toonie tour boat rides!
  • Paddle to different destinations to be eligible for terrific prizes.
  • No registration fee!
  • Bring your paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes or reserve a boat ahead of time from the Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre.

Go Fish! – Open Season at Prince Albert National Park  

Cast your line into cool northern waters of Prince Albert National Park and bring home the catch of the day or a tale about the one that got away. Lake trout, northern pike, and walleye are just a few of the game fish species that can be found in the waters of Prince Albert National Park.

Before you go, pick up a Prince Albert National Park fishing license and an angling guide from friendly park staff at the entry gates, campground kiosks, visitor centre, or at any of the Waskesiu Adventure Centre Marina locations.  

All New! – ‘Around the Town’ Geocache available Friday, July 21

This Friday, head over to the Nature Centre and try out the ‘Around the Town’ geocache!

  • Featuring 5 brand-new locations and content, this free activity is a must-try for visitors of all ages!
  • Explore Waskesiu and solve riddles, while learning about the park’s natural and cultural heritage in a new and exciting way!
  • Never tried geocaching before? The ‘Around the Town’ geocache is a great way to get a taste of this unique activity that users enjoy worldwide. Much like a treasure hunt, the ‘Around the Town’ geocache utilizes a GPS unit and coordinates to lead ‘cachers’ to hidden locations in the Waskesiu town site!

·        This summer, plan for a fun-filled afternoon at the Nature Centre in the Waskesiu town site! Experience brand-new highly interactive exhibits, hands-on learning for all-ages, and pick up a unique Prince Albert National Park souvenir! Puppets, Stuffies, Colouring Pillowcases, Finger Puppets, Moose Poo Paper, and Pencils are just some of the new merchandise now available for purchase!
