P.A. students looking for votes in national competition
French Grade 8 students at Prince Albert’s École Vickers are taking part in a nationwide contest to help celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.
The project is called Canada’s Coolest School Trip – My Parks Pass, and is about encouraging people to get out and enjoy one of the many parks Canada has to offer.
Grade 8 teacher Gisele Vachon-Perillat said each participating class across the country creates a one-minute video on a local national park and this year her students picked the Motherwell Homestead National Historic Site located about 100 km east of Regina near Abernathy, SK.
“This year the theme was to promote a Parks Canada historic site or park for people during [Canada’s] 150 because of the free park passes this year,” Vachon-Perillat said.
