Jay Beagle and Braden Holtby power Washington Capitals past Winnipeg Jets 3-2
WINNIPEG — Jay Beagle was rewarded for not giving up on Tuesday night.
The veteran Washington forward scored with 30 seconds left in the third period to lift the Capitals to a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets that extended their win streak to three games.
Winnipeg had tied it 2-2 with 2:25 left in the game when Beagle worked hard for his first goal of the season.
“I won the draw back and (defenceman John Carlson) whiffs on it,” said Beagle, who had a pair of assists in a weekend win over Calgary.
