Yield to emergency vehicles: Police

Dec 11, 2010 | 6:17 AM

The Prince Albert Police Service is reminding drivers what to do when an emergency vehicle has its flashing lights on.

Drivers are to pull to the right shoulder lane and slow to a stop so the emergency vehicle can drive by.

Sgt. Jason Stonechild said some emergency personnel have found it slow-going through the city.

“It’s frustrating when you’re trying to get someplace quickly but safely,” said Stonechild. “This is just a friendly reminder, because we’ve experienced some incidents surrounding that, but if it becomes a really big problem, then possibly we could do some sort of operation where we’re targeting those people.”
