In 2011, Lukas Werner opened Access Tire. He started off with about 300 used tires, no new tires and ran the business himself. Now, the Prince Albert resident has 10 employees and recently won best tire shop in the city located at 574 16th St. W.

“We moved into a bigger building two years ago to accommodate more customers,” said Werner.

His business was built on reputation. Customers are attracted to the quick turn around time Werner and his team offer when it comes to installation, balancing, repairs and more.

“We do a lot of repairs,” said Werner. “If you get a nail in your tire, we can patch it right away. We also do drop-ins for repairs.”

“Typically, we only have the cars for about 20 or 30 minutes,” Werner said. “So, you don’t have to drop your car off in the morning and wait for it all day – only to find out they didn’t have time to repair it.”

“When it comes to pricing…we just don’t mark up a lot. We don’t do the ‘Buy 3 – Get 4th Free’ deal because we’re usually barely over cost on most of our stuff.”

In addition to tire installation, balance, repair and bead cleaning for all types of tires including passenger, LT and performance tires, the experts at Access Tire can also install and repair most agriculture and semi tires as well.

Werner said the best time to buy winter tires is the end of September and beginning of October. He encourages customers not to wait or they’ll miss out on affordable pricing.

“Last year, a lot of the good brands were sold out early and you couldn’t get them anywhere else,” Werner said.

After winning the BOB award for Best Tire Shop in 2015, Access Tire is back on top with another BOB award for 2018 – proving they continue to meet and exceed expectations.
