Third-overall draft pick Nolan Allan has officially signed with the Prince Albert Raiders.

The Raiders announced Allan’s signing Monday, making the young defenceman the first member of the 2018 WHL draft to officially join the team. In a statement accompanying the announcement, Raiders Director of Player Personnel Ron Gunville said Allan’s well-rounded game will add a lot to Prince Albert’s roster.

“We’re extremely excited to get Nolan signed,” Gunville said. “He will bring a great all-around game to our defence core.”

Gunville said Allan’s skating separates him from other players his age and said his physical size and good character will also be assets for the Raiders.

Allan, a product of Davidson, Sask., played 26 games for the Humboldt Bantam AA Broncos in the SBAAHL during his last season. He managed 12 goals and 32 assists during the regular season, along with two goals and two assists over four playoff games.
