Local communities protected against flooding

Apr 12, 2011 | 3:13 PM

There is some good news for seven communities in north-central Saskatchewan.

The towns of Cudworth, Duck Lake, Birch Hills and Wakaw have been approved for assistance under the province's Emergency Flood Damage Reduction Program.

The rural municipalities of Duck Lake and St Louis, and the Hamlet of Yellow Creek will also share in the funding which totals near $98,000.

These grants will assist with activities like ditch clearing, sand bagging, and installing new culverts.
