Grandmother killed in snowmobile crash

An afternoon ride in the country involving a woman and her granddaughter took a sudden and tragic turn.

The RCMP is providing an update on a snowmobile crash that happened early Thursday afternoon near the Village of St Louis, south of Prince Albert.

A 43-year-old woman was travelling with her three-year-old granddaughter. When the woman attempted to travel up a steep embankment, the machine rolled on top of her.

The young girl was not hurt, but the woman was pronounced dead on scene.
