Prince Albert woman calls home to Egypt

The escalation in Egypt has been disturbing to watch on TV, but it's even more horrifying for those with loved ones in that country.

Amna Hamid in Prince Albert has been following the situation on the news and thinking about all the family she had to leave behind.

Only recently was she able to get through to Cairo for a very brief conversation with her niece.

“I couldn't continue because the connection is so bad.”
Out of fear of looters, Hamid said, her family in Cairo has had to barricade themselves inside their home.

“She's at home like seven days she doesn't have anything. There is no store open. They can't even go out … because they're afraid.”
