PA Ski Club Asks the Community to Be Respectful of Their Trails for the Safety and Enjoyment of Skiers
The trail grooming and maintenance crew have experienced increased problems this year. As well as having to spend extra hours repairing the damage caused by snowmobiles, ATVs, and larger vehicles, the crew have spent many hours over the past two weeks attempting to fix the damage caused by a person who insists on riding a horse on our trails, especially the Tower Trail.
Please, always use caution when skiing our trails. Our trails are some of the best groomed trails in the province, but problems cannot always be fixed as soon as they occur. If you do not already know, our trail grooming and maintenance crew are not paid staff, but volunteers from within our ski club membership and have day jobs and other commitments.
As well, please respect the “Trail Closed for Grooming” signs. A newly set classic track needs time to harden and skiing when the trail is closed breaks down the sides of the track and shortens the life of the track.
