Another milestone passed for health facility
The Shellbrook Integrated Facility is one step closer to reality, after the plans were approved to enter the tender process.
“In a lot of ways it’s a major milestone because once we award a tender to build that’s the final point at which there is no turning back … that’s what we are working towards,” said John Piggott, vice-president operations with the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region.
“We feel good. Because can see the can see the excitement in the eyes in the staff and the hardworking people … on our steering committee … quite a number of them are highly committed to this and they’ve been both working and hoping for this for many years.”
During the health region board meeting today in Leoville, board members approved the plans to combine Shellbrook Hospital and Parkland Terrace long-term care home together under one roof.
