Saskatchewan couple thanks paramedics who helped deliver baby on Highway 16

A Battlefords couple is breathing a huge sigh of relief after giving birth to one of their twin boys on Highway 16 just west of Saskatoon Monday afternoon.

Samantha Warren said she didn't feel right when she woke up that morning, so her doctor sent her to Saskatoon as a precaution.

“By the time I got to Radisson, I was having contractions three to five minutes apart,” said Warren.

While those contractions intensified, father A.J. Klippenstein was behind the wheel.

“Our minivan couldn't go any faster than it already was,” laughed Klippenstein.

The ambulance met them along the highway, and son Aiden was born just west of Saskatoon.

“It was really scary. Like, I noticed they were coming. They weren't going to wait,” said Warren.

Their son Kayden was delivered in a Saskatoon hospital, and both babies are said to be healthy.
