P.A. Police issue statement regarding Cst. Patrick Robin

Apr 1, 2011 | 2:25 PM

The Prince Albert Police Service has issued a statement regarding the decision made by the Saskatchewan Police Commission regarding Cst. Patrick Robin.

It was released yesterday that the hearing officer, Anne Wallace, has reinstated Robin.

The police service’s statement said that the police administration and counsel are currently reviewing the written decision.

In the meantime, Robin has returned to his status as a salaried employee of the Prince Albert Police Service and is assigned to administrative leave while the decision is being reviewed.

The Prince Albert Police Service cannot comment at this time, on whether Robin will work with them again, until the decision is fully reviewed. The statement also said the matter could be potentially appealed by Robin, the Chief of Police, or the Public Complaints Commission.

Robin was dismissed last year when, among other reasons, he decided to prosecute a traffic violation himself.

Robin declined to comment at this time.
