May 27, 2026 | 1:44 PM

While searching a guest room at a Prince Albert hotel, police officers found a box on the bed containing nearly $60,000 in cash, and there was a kilogram of cocaine stashed behind the headboard.

Those were among the details shared during a youth’s bail hearing Wednesday morning in Prince Albert Provincial Court. He was among three people found in the room when police executed a search warrant on May 21.

In relation to the nearly three-month-long investigation, prompted by tips from informants and involving members of both the city police and the RCMP, three adults and three youths were charged.

Following the search of the hotel room, residences on 28th Street East and at the Bryant Place Apartments, and a Ford F-150 truck, police seized more than three kilograms of cocaine, three kilograms of methamphetamine, two guns and more than $70,000 in cash.

The cocaine found at the house was in brick form, while the cocaine in the hotel was divided among 34 small bags.

The youth, who was on a conditional sentence order at the time of his arrest on May 21, was granted bail.

Also charged were Perla Sewap, Daylen Laliberte and Bryce Mahoney.

Sewap’s bail hearing was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and the other adults return to court Thursday.

Also Thursday, the Prince Albert Police Service scheduled a press conference to discuss its investigation.
