Reinventing through art
The Prince Albert Arts Centre was abuzz Thursday evening as a new exhibit was revealed.
“The Healing Journey” Art Gala showcased 87 pieces of varying mediums from painted eggs, to drawings, to written pieces and music. The gala was presented by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Services, Mental Health Inpatients and Canadian Mental Health Association.
Nicole Storoschuk, recreation therapist for the ABI outreach team, said clients of these services took art classes on a consistent basis to develop their skills.
“Everyone has worked really hard on their art and it’s a way for them to express their feelings and thoughts on paper, whether it’s through their writing or their painting and just to get together as a group and socialize,” Storoschuk said, looking around the gallery.
