Moose Jaw man overdoses on fake Oxy pills
Fake pills connected to several recent deaths in Saskatoon are now circulating in Moose Jaw, where a man died of an overdose.
The 27-year-old died Easter Sunday. Police believe round, blue-green Oxycontin pills containing fentanyl are responsible. These fake pills have a number 80 on them.
Fentanyl is a powerful, synthetic opiate which is similar but more potent than heroin and morphine. These types of pills have been found in Saskatoon and Prince Albert in recent months.
Police say anyone who has consumed one of these pills should seek medical attention immediately.
