High-speed chase ends in DUI arrest

A 40-year-old man is facing numerous charges after fleeing from police in a vehicle.

On Sunday night just before 8 p.m. Prince Albert police saw a vehicle that was speeding in the 700 block of 28th Street West. Police said they attempted to stop it, but the driver wouldn’t pull over.

While speeding away the suspect vehicle t-boned an SUV at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and 28th Street West, but didn’t stop.

Police said the suspect vehicle then sped onto Highway 2 south, but a flat tire disabled the car. This didn’t stop the suspect as he left the vehicle and tried to run away at which point officers arrested him.

Police said no one was hurt during the incident.

Meth lands pair in court

That same day, members of the Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team (ISET) with the help of patrol members stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of 32nd Street West.

Police said this led to the seizure of 9.4 grams of Methamphetamine, which has about a $1,000-street value. They also seized marijuana.

A 37-year-old woman and 35-year-old man face charges of drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.

Both were released in front of a Justice of the Peace and are scheduled to appear in court June 9.
