Coben looking for 5th straight Senior Lobstick

Jun 2, 2015 | 8:06 PM

Delisle’s Colin Coben hopes to make it five Conexus Senior Men’s Lobstick championships in a row this week at the Waskesiu Golf Course.

After winning every Senior Lobstick since 2011, Coben is on his way to keep the streak alive by shooting an even par 70 to lead after the opening day Tuesday.

Bob Friesen and Kirk McGregor, both of whom are from Regina, are tied for second with 71 strokes to their names.

In the Super Seniors category (ages 70 and over), Saskatoon’s Jim Scissons is leading after shooting a 68. Scissons beat the Super Seniors field last year by 13 strokes on the way to his championship. Saskatoon’s Bill Lewis is right behind him at -2.

The tournament will go on until Thursday.
