RCMP investigate alleged child abduction attempt

Sep 6, 2015 | 4:14 PM

Prince Albert RCMP say they received a complaint Saturday night that two 12-year-old girls had been approached by two males in a truck while walking on a road on the Little Red First Nation.

The complaint was phoned in at 10 p.m.

According to police, the driver offered the girls a ride, candy or pop to which the children declined. At one point the driver exited the truck and attempted to physically grab one of the female children but failed as the victim ran away. The children were not physically harmed during the brief struggle and the suspects drove away.

The male suspects were driving what was described as a light coloured extended cab truck with an air compressor in the back of the truck. No make, model or approx. year of the truck is available at this time.  The driver is described as being a First Nation male, approximately in his 30’s, tall, heavy set and appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
